Origins & Craftsmanship
Crafted by John Dewar & Sons Ltd. under the direction of Master Blender Stephanie Macleod, this limited-edition set highlights Dewar’s reputation for creativity within the world of double-aged blended Scotch whisky. Each 8-year-old base blend undergoes an additional cask finish, enhancing texture and complexity:
-
Dewar’s 8 Year Mizunara Cask Finish: Finished in Japanese Mizunara oak, known for its rare, porous grain that imparts subtle incense, sandalwood, and spice notes — smooth yet exotic.
-
Dewar’s 8 Year French Cask Smooth: Aged in ex-Calvados (apple brandy) casks from Normandy, France, delivering orchard fruit brightness, honey, and soft pastry-like sweetness.
-
Dewar’s 8 Year Caribbean Smooth: Finished in Caribbean rum casks, layering creamy toffee, tropical fruit, and molasses warmth over Dewar’s signature honeyed base.
Each expression begins with Dewar’s hallmark double-aging process — the blend is married in oak for a secondary period to enhance integration and silkiness before the final cask finishing. The result: a seamless balance of Scotch tradition and global cask artistry.
